Established in 1997, DH Flying Plastic Manufacture (Shenzhen) Co Ltd specializes in manufacturing drink ware and household appliances. Its product line includes heat-resistant pots; multi-functional pots; coffee makers; tea and coffee cups; microwavable containers; vacuum canisters; stainless steel items; and life glass??tc.

Located in Shenzhen, in Guangdong Province, DH Flying''s factory occupies 100,000 sq m and employs 1,800 workers. At full capacity, it is capable of producing 2.4 million pieces per month, and currently it turns out a monthly output of 2 million pieces. In its turnover for 2005, it recorded US$15 million, of which US$12 million was contributed by exports. On top of handling both OEM and ODM, the company has marketed products under its own brand name "Orchid" since 1998.

Mr. Chaoyang Lee, DH Flying''s general manager, said, "Since drink ware serves as everyday necessities, we are confident of its huge market potential. Our task is to create more new designs to fulfill market needs. Our strategy is to build up our brand image and flourish as a reputable supplier in this competitive sector."

Lee revealed that DH Flying enjoys several competitive advantages. Firstly, because it sources raw materials in large volumes it is able to lower production costs. Secondly, more than 200 of the company''s products are protected by patents. Furthermore, the ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001:2004 certified company is well equipped with strong R&D capabilities.

The price war created by some competitors is what Lee considered the biggest challenge for many manufacturers in the sector. "We do not compete with low prices. Our focus will remain on developing our brand name, with the expertise of our high-caliber staff," he stressed.

Presently DH Flying targets markets in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Besides these regions, the company looks forward to exploring the North American markets. In April this year, DH Flying can be seen exhibiting at the Hong Kong Housewares Fair as well as the Canton Spring Fair in Guangzhou, China.
